These last 2 years have made such an impact on everyone’s lives, Covid the invisible enemy has touched everyone on this planet one way or another… as I sit in traffic waiting on a red light on my way home from work, thinking how incredible and amazing our planet is… before covid, so many people including myself took simple things for granted, never imagining it could be taken away in the blink of an eye. The freedom to go anywhere without having to deal with the covid cloud over our heads, the mask, the hand sanitizer… worrying if anyone is standing too close to you at the store and not to mention when you hear someone coughing or sneezing around you. Always worrying you might catch the virus and spread it to your family.
The impact on relationships from creating stronger bonds between friends and family to breakups and mental health issues caused from the quarantine and isolation that this pandemic caused. It was specially hard on people that lived alone, when socializing was taken away due to the mandate stay at home order in March 2020, a lot of restaurants and businesses had to close their doors, people were laid off this brought so much uncertainty, confusion to our everyday lives and that was just the beginning…
Then the shortage of every day items, lining up for blocks at Costco to buy water and toilet paper and hoping they wouldn’t run out when you got inside the store was unbelievable. If that wasn’t enough stress, in late May the protest and riot hit the States, it was triggered by the murder of George Floyd during his arrest by Minneapolis police officers. Seeing the video was devastating how can anyone ever feel safe with the police if you ever get stop for a simple traffic stop.
I think back and it all seems so long ago and I’m amazed on how we survived, these last 2 years seems like a story straight out of a book… we had a Pandemic, Deadly Virus, New Vaccines, N95 Mask, Quarantines, Working from Home, Zoom Meeting, Police Brutality on Video, Riots, Protests, Looting and finally Politics with a President of the United States obsessed with Twitter… and to think it might not be over.
Peace and Love to all….
