Don’t forget to reward yourself especially after you finish a project, ending a crazy work week, basically anything that you start and work through the end… you need to look forward to something, an incentive per say.
The science behind that good feeling you get after receiving a reward, your body releases dopamine , which creates a sense of pleasure. When your body releases this chemical in large amounts it creates a rush feeling of pleasure, it can happen both when it’s good or bad, such as getting enough sleep, exercising, listening to your favorite music, sex, gambling, meditating even spending time in the sun…
When you create a reward system for yourself, you are increasing your dopamine levels naturally and to your advantage, this will help and motivate you to repeat the behavior that releases that sense of pleasure. I love listening to music, a song can change my mood so quickly, it can remind me of someone or take me back to when I had the song on repeat, I enjoy my favorite playlists after a long day at work or on my way to work to get me in a good mindset before walking in to start my chaotic day.
