Chia Seeds, when I read that chia seeds were consumed on a daily basis by Aztecs and Mayan, I became super curious about these tiny little super seeds. They are good for your brain with their high content of omega fatty acids that increase healthy brain function, but they have also proven to be good for your heart by fighting high cholesterol and heart disease.

They even boast a wide variety of nutrients, such as: protein, fiber, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, iron, calcium and antioxidants.

Use up to three tablespoons of chia seeds in your smoothie for a thick consistency and a mildly sweet flavor. My favorite way to enjoy them is mixing them in my drink, like adding some on lemon and water.  A great detox drink by mixing half cranberry juice and water with the juice of one lemon and add some chia seeds.
